Dr. Arfan Ikram

M. Arfan Ikram, MD PhD is assistant professor in Neuroepidemiology at the Erasmus MC. He is PI of Neuroepidemiology of the Rotterdam Study and joint PI of the Rotterdam Study. He has received funding from the Netherlands Heart Foundation, the International Parkinson Foundation, and the Dutch Brain Foundation. For his research he has received the Stefan Hoogendijk Prize from the Bataafsch Genootschap der Proefondervindelijke Wijsbegeerte and the Research Prize from the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Dr. Ikram serves as editorial board member for Neuroepidemiology. He has published over 75 peer-reviewed papers and is currently supervising 7 PhD students.
